COVID - 19 Q & A (Real Axe Update)
Please visit this page regularly for the latest updates
First & foremost I'd like to thank you and all our customers for the continued support since opening Real Axe, It’s a privilege to be able to provide an experience / night out which is completely different, to a part of Bolton I’ve lived for the majority of my 50 plus years. In these hard times it's important to continue to have fun and find your smile.
1st December 2020
After Bolton's 3rd shutdown we are allowed to re-open for the axe throwing on the 2nd December 2020, as the axe throwing has been classed as indoor sport and leisure we are currently allowed to axe throw in all tiers, so you can relieve some of your lockdown stress hurling our axes at our targets. Regarding the authentic smokehouse restaurant, we can offer the following:
If In Tier 2 - You can book the restaurant only, or you can hit the smokehouse after your axe throwing session, unfortunately you have to be dining in order to have alcohol here.
If In Tier 3 - The axe throwers can order their smokehouse takeaway during the axe throwing and it will be ready for takeaway after your axe throwing session (we will also provide plates and cutlery for those who can't wait to get it home before tucking in.
13th October 2020
Bolton has been placed into the tier2 (High) from the government's latest 3 tier system this means:
Currently we can only accept axe throwing and smokehouse seating bookings for single family / support bubbles. So why not have a family kid's v's adults axe throwing competition followed by some of the most authentic BBQ the North West has to offer.
Axe throwing continues from the 9th October after the second lockdown
After the brutal second lockdown we are finally allowed to offer axe throwing, You can order your authentic smokehouse BBQ whilst on the lanes but unfortunately until the Bolton hospitality shutdown is lifted you can't eat it on site as we are only allowed to operate a takeaway service.
Real Axe Covid 2nd phase Update 09th September 2020 - The nightmare continues
Due to the latest government announcement, as of 10pm on the 8th September Real Axe can only operate as a takeaway service offering or authentic BBQ for delivery and collection until further notice. Any axe throwing bookings made will be held and you will be able to rebook.
Real Axe Covid 2nd phase Update 31st July 2020
Real axe will remain open for authentic smokehouse BBQ and Axe throwing bookings.
In light of yesterday announcement regarding the instant banning of 2 households being able to mix indoors and in gardens, I just wanted to update you regarding our restaurant and axe bookings.
Putting people first.
Firstly, I’d like to assure you that the safety of our customers and our staff is our highest priority during these testing times, we have gone to great lengths to make sure the tables are double the distance needed, there is more than enough PPE and sanitizer stations through out the building and outside every toilette, as well as the introduction of a one way system marked on the floor and separate entry and exit.
At Real Axe we are fortunate enough to be able to distance each table far in excess of what’s required within the government guidelines, also each of our tables are 2 meters in length, so as an example if you were booked as a table of 6 with a household you were previously allowed to mix with, you would still be on the same table but with double the distance required so three on one side and three on the other.
So in short, the new rules shouldn’t affect the majority of axe throwing or restaurant bookings
We appreciate your continued support, if anything is unclear about your party please do not hesitate to call us on 01204 305787
For any unanswered questions please call 01204 305787 or email Simon@realaxe.co.uk
When will you re-open
Unfortunately we cant give an answer to this, our current extended lockdown doesnt have an end date but Bolton council will review this on a regular basis.
Will the smokehouse food still be available for collection & delivery?
As of the 27th March we will be offering BBQ & Beer deliveries and collection and can be booked here
What additional measures do you have in place when open to keep your customers and staff safe?
We have installed 5 new foam hand sanitisers 2 at the entrance which must be used when entering and exiting. 2 on the axe throwing lanes, and one on the customers side of the bar.
All axe throwers will be given a small bottle of hand sanitiser, to be used before each turn of throwing axes and visiting the toilete.
The staff will use a 30 second contact food safe sanitiser on all surfaces regularly, all staff will be issued powdered latex gloves for serving our customers.
The units are newly refurbished and combined are 7500 square feet, because of this you can eat and drink here and keep the recommended 1 meter away from others.
We have introduced a one way system which is marked on the floor.
We take the temperature of all staff and each customer daily.
We had a booking and didn't claim for a refund, how do we move the session?
Simply call us at the unit on 01204 305787 and we will go through some options.
What happens if we book and your not able to provide the axe throwing due to the government changing the rules due to a second spike?
You will be given the option of a full refund or to change the date after the 2nd lockdown (which we are confident wont happen.
Is the ACDC experience concert still happening?
Hell yes, the band is scheduled to play on the 27th September, but ill be having a catch up with them and confirm the details when I know more.
